How do I seed a torrent?

Question

Can someone give me a simple explanation on how to seed a torrent. I want to seed because I know it is good, I don't know what it means exactly.

I want to do it though so can someone help me?

when you download a torrent the program you use will automatically seed. just leave the torrent running after it's finished downloading and don't stop it. Unfortunately I can't provide a comprehensive list of signs that a torrent is seeding as each torrent program works slightly differently from the next, but if you go to the website of the program you use there is likely to be either an FAQ or a knowledge base with a more detailed answer.

I'm not sure if we are thinking about the same thing.

If a torrent is some type of plant or something, I'm way off.

The use of this phrase, as I know it, means to stir up trouble.  

It is possible to "seed" a cloud with chemicals to induce rain.  A large rain storm is called a torrent, so to "seed a torrent" is to do something that causes a big storm.  In this context, to "seed a torrent" is to somehow effect a circumstance that results in a large disturbance.

Hence: to "seed a torrent" is to do something that causes big trouble: i.e. stir up trouble.

But I may be way off in what you are thinking.
