How do I sell a juicy story?

I have some inisder info about about a healtcare facility that could real make a good story and yes I want to sell it. How can I go about doing this?

Start by calling your local TV news stations & ask to talk to an editor.  WITHOUT giving them your story, explain that you want to sell the info, & ask how they go about compensating for stories...  then try your local newpapers~ do the same thing.  Get several possible buyers, don't take the first one.  And of course, don't tell them anything until you have it in writing that they will pay you, or actually have the money in your hand.  You will have to give them some idea as to what they would be buying, so figure out a way to word it so that they can't figure out what the real story is.  (Don't say anything that they can put 2+2 together & figure it out for themselves, like give them a fake name of a car dealership & tell them it's about them. Don't use a different healthcare facility's name, in fact don't even tell them it's IN the healthcare industry.) I don't know if this is all local or if you are talking about a national health care organization like Kaiser, but the bigger it is, the more money you can get, & the higher up you should go before giving anyone the story.  Just remember, once you let the cat out of the bag, you no longer have any rights to the story.  Also, be very careful about what you say, you don't know~ they may already have a lead on your story & know a lot more than you think.  AND... be careful not to SLANDER anyone!  Don't say anything that someone can come back & sue you for.  Good luck...
