How do I send message of thanks to someone who answered my question?

Question

I asked about nematodes on a holly bush (a couple hours ago) and received perfect information. I'm not sure if the person who answered has the same name as me or not as they commented they liked my name. (I'm kind o' new to all this).

Select their answer as the best one, leave a comment.  They will be notified in their email that their answer was selected as best one.

go back to the answer and click on that box above their name.. and the there should be a link to mail cat.  it's really odd that you 2 can have the same screenname, but tis true

you can view the profiles of the one who answered your question, if he allowed others to see his or her contact then you can see his or her email but if not,,,, you have no way but to say you are thankful this is to your comment when you chose it is the best answer.

Choose as best answer and then leave the message in the feedback box.

When you choose them as best answerer you can write a message thanking them. Most people go back and read these messages. Also, you can click on their name and go to their profile. At the top right you'll see a link to either im or email this person. You can thank them that way too. If they dont allow ims or email then you can sign onto yahoo messenger and send an instant message to that screen name. Hopefully its the same person. Even if theyre not online you they'll get your thank you IM when they sign on.

Click on their name and it will bring you to a page that says if they allow email or not. If they do you can send them a email, if not, you can't.

Or you can choose the answer as the best answer and put a comment of thanks. they will get a email that you chose it as the best and if they click on it, they will see your commen.t

for the person that answered your question.  click on their avatar, it will then take you to their profile.  when at their profile, you may contact them that way.  if they allow others to e-mail or IM them.  if not, there's no other way for you to thank them.  as yahoo respects the privacy of others.  

one way that you could do it on yahoo answers.  while at their profile, click to see if they are asking any questions themselves.  if there is a question that you will answer.  ...answer the question and once you've answered their question.  you can thank them there.  just a thought.

If you look at their public profile, you may be able to IM or email them.

Click on their avatar and if they allow IM or e mail you can make contact that way.  Otherwise if you pick their answer as best then leave a comment which expresses your thanks.

You can click on their picture and it will take you to their profile, if they allow e-mails then you can send them an e-mail or after 4 hours you choose their answer as best answer and it will prompt you to write something then and you can leave a message of thanks there.
