How do I set my TV speakers as the default speakers for my computer?

When watching films I have downloaded (legally) on my computer, I connect my computer to the TV using an S-video cable as i find it more engaging and realistic to watch it on a bigger screen. The picture comes up great but the sound still comes out of my laptop's speakers...how do I change this?

First succesful method given will be voted as best answer.

This should work is your TV works this way. Beside the S-video input should be an RCA input. You need an 3.5mm coaxial to RCA adapter cable. Plug this into the laptops speaker port and into the TVs RCA input that corresponds to the same S-video input.
