  1. The ohmage of the amp is set by the amp manufacture.  Usually that is not something that can be changed.  If it is changeable it will be a switch on the outside of the amp.  Check the manual that the amp came with

  2. You make sure to read the manual. The impediance is set by the wiring; you have to wire the sub to be 1 ohm, depending on the setup. For example, if it has (2) 2 ohm voice coils, by wiring it in parallel, you get a 1 ohm load. By wiring it in series, you get a 4 ohm load. Just make sure to READ THE MANUAL.

  3. Well bro you cant set your amplifier to do one ohm if the amp isnt one ohm stable.  Even if the amp is stable you still cant make that woofer that you have run on one ohm unless its a dual 2 ohm woofer.  If so you can just wire the woofer up in parrel and when hooked up with the amp it will sit at one ohm.  When I say parellel I mean a wire from one positve on one coil to the positive on the second coil.  Then a wire from the negative on one coil to the negative on the other coil.  Then run a speaker wire from the negative and positive on one of the coils to the terminals in your box.  If you have a just one dual 4 ohm woofer it wont work, even if your amp is one ohm stable.  If your amp is one ohm stable and you only have one 4 ohm woofer, go and buy another 4 ohm woofer wire them both up in parellel wich will drop them to 2 ohms each and then they will sit at one ohm on the amp.  Your first step is to make sure your amp is made for one ohm stable though, if not you cant do it unless you buy a one ohm stable amp
