  1. I have the Palm Treo 680, so I'm assuming that it's relatively similar to yours.  After you record your voice (or anything) as a voice memo, highlight it in the list of saved voice memos, then either hit the button that opens up the options bar on the top of the screen (which has 3 tabs on mine: Voice Memo, Edit, and Options) or take your stylus and tap the top of the screen which should open the options bar.  Under the "Voice Memo" tab, click "Copy to Ringtone" which is at the bottom of the list on mine.  Then hit the telephone button to get to the place where you'd be to dial a number (but not the screen that has all the number buttons on it).  Tap the top of the screen with your stylus, or hit the button that opens up the options bar, then hit the "Options" tab and then "Sound Preferences" which is the second from the top of the list on mine.  Then near the top, it says "Application:" so tap on the option to the right of that and hit whichever application you want to  apply the recorded sound to (like ring tones, messaging, etc.).  I think you wanted it to be set to make this sound when you received a text message, so tap on "Messaging."  Then there's a thing near the middle of the screen that says "Message Tone:" so click on the word to the right of that and find your recording on that list (it will be named whatever you named it, or if you didn't name it, its name will be the date and time that you recorded it).  Finally tap on your recording in that list and tap "Done" on the bottom of your screen!  Then whenever you receive a text message, your voice recording will play!  I hope your phone is similar to mine lol.
