How do I set up a paypal account? Is it free?

is there a local site in Singapore for it? I only say paypal in australia. Thanks

  1. You can set up a paypal account using your credit card number; just use the US site, like I did when Paypal was new and didn't yet accept bank account numbers. (I live in Germany, Europe, and have my Paypal account linked to my bank account now.) It is free as long as you don't move the money in your Paypal account to somewhere else, like draw money from it to a bank account. Fees will apply then.

    Having sold and bought some items internationally on Ebay, Paypal proved to be a useful thing to me, but it will never become my preferred method of payment.


  2. It is free to set up a paypal account.  You need to have a bank account confirmed with it, you will notice a deposit of a few cents within a few days of signing up for it.  

    If you sell an item on ebay and the person pays you, it stays in your paypal account.  you can then transfer it to your bank account if you wish.
