How do I set up an Philanthropic organization (group or club) at my school?

I want to set up an organization at my school, preferably a group of girls called G.L.A.M. that gives to organizations and etc. Has anyone set up an organization like this or similar?

First consult with your President or Principal of the school and tell them what you want to do and they will tell you if you can. If that all goes well take it from there.

Kiwanis International (kiwanis.org) has programs designed specifically for kids in grades 6th through 12th. They are local clubs run by the kids, with adult supervision. There is some emphasis on leadership development  as well as community service projects.  

Kiwanis is a global organization of volunteers dedicated to changing the world one child and one community at a time.
