You have 4 options-

-Charter School with an independent sutdy option

-file a private school affidavit

-school under and umbrellas school that files a private school affidavit (they will hole your shcool records)

-Use and independent study program through your school district.

California has a bunch of Charter schools, many of which let you direct the funds to purchase materials and classes.

I have attached a fact sheet from HSLDA on the options for setting up a Homeschool in CA.  and our Laws.

We file our affidavit with a group, a "Private School Satelite Program" or something to that effect.  

You can file your own, as well.

Hire a private tutor.

Or enroll in a Private or Public school's Independant Study Program.  I think Charters fall into this category.

It is pretty easy to have it set up.  And there are plenty of enrichment activities available in CA!!!

I would visit HSLDA, CHEA, or any other CA homeschool organization and get "plugged in" at your local level.  

Also FYI  Aquarium of the Pacific has Homeschool Days on Wednesday and Thursday, September 10th and 11th. It is $6.00 a person ages three and up. You can call to reserve tickets at 562-951-1630. They are also offering great classes geared to home schooling.

Many other amusement parks and zoos offer homeschool days and other incentives!
