I have wireless internet at home and at work. My connection at home is automatically found by my computer. My connection at work needs to be manually set up. Every time I go to work I have to set it up. Then when I go home I have to change it back. Is there a way to save the settings for each connection so when I go to work it automatically finds it? Then when I go home it automatically finds the other? I have Windows Vista. Thanks!

  1. You can set up Vista to automatically connect to your home or work wireless connection without having to re-do the connection manually each time...

    Open Network and Sharing Center.

    Select Manage wireless networks.

Right-click on listing for your work wireless connection and select Properties.

Make sure "Connect automatically when this network is in range" in Connection is checked.

Voila!  When you are at home, it will connect to your home connection automatically, when you are at work, it will connect to your work connection automatically!

  2. I hope that at home you have it as a protected network, otherwise anyone outside your home could connect to the network and really slow it down.

At work, all you should need to do it put in the password key and you'll be connected. That's what I do when I've gone from different locations other then my home.
