How do I setup surround sound with a coaxial cable?

How can I set up surround sound using the coaxial cable? My landlord provides me with expanded cable, so I do not have a cable box. Is there an adapter I can buy that will splice the coax cable into the Red/Yellow/White cables?

If you have a vcr you can run the sound off of that.  Coax from wall in vcr, coax out of vcr to tv.  Use inputs from back of vcr for the surround sound.  If you dont have a vcr, you can buy an rf modulator.  They make quite a few different kinds but here is one to give you an idea.
