Ok, I'm a male.

I don't know how to shave my pubic region correctly....

Every time I go to shave I always get very bad razor bumps... Afterwords it looks so bad that it looks like I got some sort of STD (I don't though)

Here is my procedure consists of this:

1. Soak in the tub for about 20 minutes.

2. Wash pubic region and genitals.

3. Use shaving cream.

4. Shave against the grain.

5. Wash off.

6. Dry off.

7. Use lotion frequently.

What am I doing wrong?

Please make this a mature topic...

  1. wow. well me being a woman, i shouldn't be answering because im not a expert. haha. but my best advice is to not shave it for awhile, let the wounds heal and let the hair grow, and then try to be as delicate as possible next time you try.

  2. This is too easy for the Queen of Sarcasm. Somebody handle my light work.

  3. no shaving cream (maybe ur allergic?)

    use disposable

  4. It could be the razor you're using.

But why do you even shave down there anyway?  Is there any particular reason or do you just not like the hair?

  5. Very. Carefully.

  6. You should shave with the grain until you get used to it...i know its not a close shave or at least not as close, but until you get used to it...this is best.  Also follow with hydrocortisone cream...it helps the bumps not come up!

You can also try an aftershave...for sensitive skin, it will help too!

  7. shave downward not upward

  8. You can always try and use a hair remover cream. But, don't use Nair. That stuff is bad. I use a Avon brand of hair remover. Much better than cutting something off, lol.

  9. Don't go against the grain and thats normal every one always gets a bit of razor burn, but going against the grain just makes it worse. try an electric shaver never done it my self but herd it works.

  10. You're doing number 4 wrong!  You need to shave with the hair growth.  For example, if your hair is growing to the left, you must shave it to the left.

  11. make sure that the skin is pulled, i mean tense. do i make sense? you pull the skin and then pass the razor blade

  12. Use Nair!...I know it sounds girly, but it works. I use Nair for Sensitive Areas and I get no razor bumps or ingrown hairs. To soothe the bumps use baby diaper rash cream, it works good. But, seriously try Nair for Bikini Area...It works.

  13. When ever i want to get rid off mine down there i use male hair removal cream. it may sting a little but i find it HOT and it is as smooth as and when it grows back it doesn't itch like it does when u shave. i do no that it says don't use the cream on u genitals on the container  but mine r still in good working order whenever i use it.
