Question:

How do I ship a Crate heavier than 175lbs in Canada? UPS and Purolator won't do it under any circumstance.

We have a large crate weighing 175lbs that both UPS and Purolator will not ship because we are not a business. They refuse to help with 'personal moves' as they called it. And normal service won't ship a package that large.

They basically said the trucks would be wasting time coming out here, for something small like that. So we're left with what options? Moving companies? Unfortunately all the ones that I've been in contact with have HORRIBLE reviews here in Canada, and are all blacklisted some way or another. That, or they charge far too much, or offer little insurance.

Any suggestions for people having shipped Large and heavy things in Canada before? The crate is a TV, and was newly acquired, so I'd hate to have to leave it behind especially after having payed for the thing to be crated.

  1. You have to contact a freight company and you will have to bring it to a local terminal.
