I can't close down the computer. The round symbol in the lower left corner does not appear. There are no "xs" to get rid of something or no blue back symbol either. I have to turn off computer instead of closing it down correctly. Help!

  1. press the ALT, CTRL, and DEL keys at the same time

    or just unplug the CPU

  2. Ctrl + Alt then Delete

  3. Hit control alt and delete all at the same time, and then select shut down computer

  4. ok just jeep holding down ur power button until ur computer turns off

  5. if you have a mac you have down control + option + command (the button with the apple) and while doing that press the eject button. but if yr done something hold down command and then press Q

  6. the button you push on yer CPU to turn it on just push it until it shuts off . like dont let it go ,.

  7. hold in the power button for at least 6 seconds and it should power down.

  8. If you are not able to shut down the computer manually, press and hold down the power button until the computer turns off (works on desktops and laptops).  Once your machine is off, let it sit for a few minutes then power it back on by pressing the power button.  Your machine will boot back up.  If you experience any issues afterwards, you will need to run your virus scanner (just in case).  If you still have issues, you'll need to contact Microsoft or Mac, whoever your machine is made thru.  Good luck.

  9. Hmm, must mean you are lagging the computer so badly, that the computer is unable to respond. My suggestion is Press + Hold CTRL + ALT + Delete. Then let go. A Task Manager will appear, try closing some programs from there, if still not. Do it again, but this time, do not try to close programs with it, press CTRL + ALT + Delete one more time, and your PC screen may go blue. It's okay, press CTRL + ALT + Delete this last time, and it will safely restart your PC.

  10. press: Ctrl Alt Delete

more like hold those buttons on that order.

    OR

    Alt (f4)

  11. hit CTRL+ALT+DEL at the same time. *Control, alt, delete.

Hit that twice in a row and it will shut down.

If you only do it once, your task manager will appear. Do it twice.

  12. Hold in the power button for about 4 seconds until your computer shuts down.

  13. you probably cut the toolbars accidently

have u tried using the keyboard.

its a symbol of a square like a windows symbol

if u cant shut it down then just look at the connection of your computer and if u see a switch ,switch it off

when u r ready to use it again swich it on

  14. press the power button and hold it until it shuts down.

    xD

    or press restart.

  15. when's the last time you remember seeing it there if you can remember do a system restore if not try unplugging the computer , leave it unplugged and hold the power button in for 90 seconds. this is supposed to restore factory defaults. if this doesn't work your only option is system recovery which if you only do a partial recovery you don't need any discs

  16. sounds like you a trojan virus causing a scripting error on wndows and the taskbar

go to your internet browser and enter this link

    http://free.avg.com

install and run it and if it finds anything tell it to get rid of it

this should fix the problem as i had the same problem on my computer which norton anti virus didn't pick up so i said goodbye to norton and hello to free AVG anti virus and have had no problems since

if this doesn't work email me edwardtrickett@live.co.uk

  17. Press the alt, control, and delete keys simultaneously. Then on the top click your mouse on Shut Down, and then hit turn off. Or you can just highlight all the programs currently running on your computer and hit "End Task."

If worse comes to worse, just mnually shut down the computer and cross your fingers that no data is lost.

  18. ctrl+alt+del>shutdown>restart

  19. um dude this isnt a really good way but it gets the job done ......okay um you see the button on the frame of the screen where its a line halfway across a circle um yeah press it and on the hard drive(big mechanicle box)there is also the same symbol um yeah press it and it will turn off it just might take longer to turn it on again

  20. it's ok...having to shut down the wrong way won't kill your computer if thi is the first time you've done it...i have to do it with mine all the time, and it's no biggie.  hold down the power button until it shuts off.  when you boot back up, it may go through the whole system check thing, but a lot of times it won't.  just take a deep breath and know that it's not going to explode on you!

  21. Press ctrl alt delete and wait to see if there are any programs still running and close them that way.  If you can shut down after that, just hold down the power key for a few seconds.

  22. It sounds like your computer is frozen....

You might actually have to unplug your computer.

Can you get to the start menu at all ?
