How do I sign up for the SCCA and get my racing career started?

I've been thinking of getting in to racing and I know that the Sports Car Club of America is the first step, I just don't know how to really start my career and where to go after I join the SCCA.

Well the first thing is get your SCCA membership in hand, and sign up to work as a track volunteer.  That will give you access to the drivers, and you can ask them questions.
