This is the third time I've submitted this question. I can never find an exceptional answer due to the confusion of typing it out. People seem to change the negative exponents to positive and I get lost so just tell me what you do to make it positive, k? I got as far as distributing the exponents outside of the parentheses and ended up with (a ^ 6 times b ^ -4 / c ^ 8)( a ^ -4 times c ^ 2 / b ^ -3). Now what?

  2. You change an exponent from positive to negative (and vise versa) by changing it from a numerator to a denominator (and vise versa). So if you have a^-4 its the same as 1/a^4. Maybe your class hasn't reached that yet. What class is it? They usually teach you this if they've introduced you to negative exponents.
