I go off ski jumps and it feels like my skis just keep tilting more and more forward the whole jump. like, i go off it, and i feel like im falling forward. (not being stupid here guys, i know i am falling forward...) but shouldn't my skis be kept more level? or do I just need more speed? or less?

  1. When you go off the jump, pop off of the snow at the lip of the jump.  Bend your knees and extend, actually jumping off the jump.  this will keep you more blanced in the air.  if you have a problem of going forward, reach down and grab your ski under the boot, hopefully this will keep you from leaning forward.  spot your landing and reach your arms forward.  you want your skis to be parallel to the landing.

  2. When you mention ski jumps are talking about a "jumping hill" or a terrain park type of jump?

When on a jumping hill, you need to build a "pressure wave" under your skiis so you can become an airfoil over the hill. Your skiis should be tips up until just before touchdown.

On a terrain park jump, your tips should be parallel to the landing slope or slightly tails down.

  3. you actually want your skis to tilt forward because you want them to be parallel to the landing surface. if they are tilting so much that it they pass being parallel, just lean back a little bit.

okay, im gonna assume that youre not talking about "ski jumping" in the big hills because noone in their right mind will attempt those without proper coaching (in which case the last people to ask how to do these will be us yahoos).

if youre talking about jumps in the slopes, my answer still applies.

    have fun!
