Question:

How do I soften my hair?

I have real curly-black hair, which are a bit dry and rough through the ends.

I wish to know, if there's any means by which I can soften them.

Also, they do have a decent length, but as they are curly,...they look kind of short, so I wish to elongate them even more,...can you suggest some measures for that too.

Please, let me know if something good crops-up in your mind to manage my hair well.

Thank You!

P.S.: since I don't like straightening my hair,..please do not suggest that.

  1. look for the word "silk" or "silky" or "smoothing" on any hair products which moisturize and defrizz hair

if u dont want to spend a lot of money on it id suggest:

Tresemme Smooth and Silky Shampoo and Conditioner

and Tresemme AntiFrizz Secret Leave In Creme

all of these products can be bought at common drug/grocery stores

if u want a salon quality product for a little more money [no more than $20 for a bottle of product] id suggest:

SilkySexyHair Shampoo and Conditioner and SilkySexyHair Leave in Remedy

those u can buy at hair care or beauty stores like Trade Secret, Ulta, Sephora, Beauty Mode, etc

i know for a fact Ulta carries those products

  2. You can soften you hair by using a deep conditioner (conditioner that should be left on the head with a plastic cap for 15-30 minutes; it can be used with or without heat). Once your done deep conditioning you should rinse and a apply a leave-in conditioner and/ or moisturizer beginning from the ends. Since you wish to show you length without straightening you hair you can try a twist-out or a braid-out ( you can divide the hair into to 6, 8 or 10 sections plaiting or twisting each section. If you wish you can add rollers to ends for curly ends). This should be done on wet hair, in the morning unravel plaits or twists and separate for volume and body. I hope this was helpful.

P.S. also to keep your hair from feeling dry you can moisturize the ends of your hair with a water based moisturizer

  3. using leave in conditioners can help alot. I love garneirs leave in conditioner. it makes your hair really soft and helps with frizz. try that
