I got a homework assignment for my Development of Civilization class and it says: Research the disk and find its true meaning. How am I supposed to decipher it if nobody else in the world has?!

By the way what's Linear A mean?

  1. Since no one has deciphered it, I think what the assignment is, is to develop a plausible theory. Like the Mayan calender, it could tell dates or the ten commandments rules to live by.

  2. Since it was found in Crete, and dated to appx. 1700 BCE, it was probably a Phoenician artifact...

Because it contains hieroglyphics different from the Egyptian, which is older, the language of the Phoenicians formed a bridge to the later Aramaic & Hebrew dialects!

    Try that theory...
