How do I solve this?! 5^(x+1)=25?

I forgot hoe to do logs! help!!

  1. lg 5^(x+1) = lg (25

    (x+1) lg (5) = lg (25)

    x+1 = lg (25) / lg (5)

    x+1 = lg(5,25)

    x = 2 - 1

    x = 1


  2. multiply 5 by the quality in the brackets... then you will get 5x+5 = 25, subtract 5 from both sides, and then divide both sides by 5... x should end up to =4
