Okay, here is the math problem...I am really confused

If 3x+4y=14 and (2x)^2(x^2)^3y=(-5/2)(x), then y is____?

I dont get this. The second equation is not a linear line.

Please help and explain to me how you got this.

  1. (2x)^2(x^2)^3y=(-5/2)(x),

    4x^2 *x^ 6y = -5/2)(x),

    4 x^( 2+6y) = -5x/2)

    8 x^( 2+6y) = -5x

    and 3x+4y=14   y= (14-3x)/4

    i presume u subsittute for y then take logs f both sides
