How do I spider proof my house?

Okay, we have an old colonial house, and they love that - I see that, but as of now, I can name a spider (I think they're called Carpenter Spiders) in each of these locations - bathroom wall by the sink, living room ceiling, the washer (WTF), the corner of my room my head goes when I sleep, and my shoe. I really can't take these d**n spiders anymore, and I can't see why they're so resilient. I'm horribly arachnophobic, and at this point, I just want to move out. We put in new carpet in most of the house only about two months ago, and took the opportunity to clean EVERYWHERE. They're returning, just as numerous as before. The h**l am I going to do.

  1. Get the terminators to come spray the house. We had ants real bad and when we sprayed for those, the spiders disappeared for a year as well.

I dont care what you think about poisons, it works and I'm not dead yet, so go ahead and do it! Haha!
