I live in London and I just graduated recently and since I am bored out of my mind, I've been baking a lot so now I'm thinking of selling cupcakes from my home, not really start a big business, just making some extra money. Anyone knows how do I go about doing that? Do I need to obtain a license to sell food from my home? Any tips would be great!

  1. You will come under the Enviromental Health rules which are a minefield. The W.I. have had problems with members making cakes and jam in their own kitchens for resale. Phone your Env. Health dept and have a word with them before you invest in any money, also cakes now have to be labled as to whether they may contain nuts.

  2. Why don't you call at a few privately owned tea shops, cafes and ask if they are interested. Take some samples with you and have a leaflet quoting ingredients, prices, delivery times etc.

    Good luck.
