My sister n law said that I don't have to be certified to open a daycare. As long as you dont have more than 3 kids.

  1. Get a room for the daycare place. Buy toys and puzzles. Buy pillows and small chairs. Prepare activities and stories for them.

  2. The answer to this all depends on the laws where you live.  SOme states would require all childcare providers to be licensed and some if over 3 and in some its not unless there are more than 5.  You should check the child care licensure laws in your state and not take advice of any one else.

  3. I think you need to take a class and get certified to be a babysitter or open a daycare.  Plus you can only have a certain number of children in your daycare if your the only one planning on doing it.

  4. I have a home daycare and a lot depends on your state requirements.  I am not licensed and don't have to be as long as I keep fewer than 6 children.  I choose to only keep 3 because of the ages I have.  This site below has valuable information.  HOpe this helps. :)

  5. you still should go to a fire station or hospital and get a cpr certification. this is needed.

  6. It depends on what state you are in.  also it depends on the children you are watching.  If they are related to you, you can watch them in most states without certification.  It usually isn't that hard to get licensed though.  Social services may be able to answer your questions or direct you on the right path at least.

  7. There are many things to think about that depend on every state.  It depends on the ages of the children, and how many adults you will have.  There are adult:child ratios for different age groups.  There are also time restrictions if you are not certified.

My mother in law has a preschool that she runs in her home, with 2 adults.  She has 10-12 children per class, and they can not stay longer than 3 1/2 hours.  If they stayed longer, she would be required to be certified.  You need to check your states requirements to be sure.
