How do i start a girl band and get it produced?

I want to start a band because i every time i turn on the t.v i see other bands that are on TRL or MTV and see not one african american band.

So i want to change that by making my own band.

If you can tell me how or where i can begin my dream i will be truly thankful.

by the way im starting my way in to high school and all my friends including me know how to play instruments

Have you ever heard of Black Kids? That Florida band, with obviously, black kids in it?

Bands are fun. Get to know each other's taste in music. If it's similar, that's great! You're halfway there. Then the rest of the out of place music influences will bring experimenting into your music.

Come together (or not), and make music. It isn't that hard. Collaborate all your ideas, and if they don't make sense. then use it in another song or a hook of a song. Then make demos (this requires equipment, you can either buy or rent), record it separately into some program with channels, and put it into WAV format. Copy onto a CDR and now you've got your first digital presence as a band.

Purevolume and Myspace are good places to put your music somewhere free of charge.

Real production costs a lot of money. Lots of people I know went broke because they thought they were, ahem, "good."

Go ahead and begin your dream.

I have to say that it's not that easy to go on MTV.

You also have to have a large fan base or lots of money.

But usually a large fan base.
