How do I start a pet sitting and dog walking business?

How would I go about doing this? Do I need any special liscences or register it as a small business? Or can I just advertise and operate it without anything like that? What about taxes?

Just advertise! Put your ad on Craigslist and on the newspaper!

How exciting!  It really depends - are you a teen just looking to make extra money or an adult who really wants to establish a legitimate business?  If you are looking for a legitimiate business, you need to start by getting a business license which can be done online at your state's website.  They usually cost very little.  You should also consult with an accountant on how to set up your finances and look into insurance.  Beyond that, you should be able to make up some cards, advertise and get going.  Good luck!
