How do I start a street team for a band?

My friends band has asked me to manage their street team, but I don't know where to begin. How do I start up a street team. I really like their music and would love to generate more fans for them.

Set up a date, for instance when you practice a song you think is good and know the lyrics and notes by heart. Set the date for a month after. Post flyers as if you had a lost dog, and you'll be suprised how many people see those in a month. Figure out somewhere to book, (garage, park, community centre, somewhere cheap).                                    

      

If no one knows you you wont get attention. Well heres a idea, get a $50 dollar gift and charge $1 a raffle ticket and raffle off a prize.

You will probably get like $100 bucks off the raffle drawing which will pay for ink, flyers, and the rental.

easy, pick a band, email them, and then start one on myspace!

myspace is the easiest way!

you have to be committed though!

have them send you flyers and stickers and promo stuff!

get members and have them promote at shows!

you have to promote also! local shows stores and even schooL!

and to keep members and gain more throw small contests like winning free so and so from the band!
