My advice would be , take a look around some yacht clubs in your area and see what you can find out , of course WITHOUT advertising the fact that you want to start your own...

You will be amazed at what people will tell you, especially if they don't see you as a threat (in the business sense)...

I am a member of San Diego Yacht Club.  Don't try and start your own.  Explore others and pick the nicest fanciest one.  Go SAILING!
