How do I start my essay about Leadership?

Question

My English teacher assigned us an essay for misbehaving.. so she punished us with a three paragraph essay about leadership.

The punishment is fine by me, but I'm HORRIBLE with starting out essays. Maybe an example would help me? Thanks so much!

Oh & I was planning to put this paragraph as the body (2nd paragraph), please tell me what you think:

My experience in a leadership position was when I was playing as point guard for the Howard Pence basketball team. I had to give people orders, communicate with my teammates, had everyone cooperate with everything, and had things running smoothly throughout our league. Although we didn’t win, I still felt the experience in being a leader.

The easiest way to start an essay is with a quote.

Maybe one of these will be a good lead into the theme of your essay.  Don't forget you need an introduction, body and conclusion to write a good essay.
