I want to start my own radio show via my room. How would I get it set up, and how would I get the satellite to catch up signals so that it can broadcast into people's radios? Please inform me of any special procedures which need to be carried out before this can become a success.

  1. You need equipment.  Have you ever seen the movie Pump Up The Volume?  Radio is regulated by the FCC.

  2. It depends on what kind of show you want to do.

If you are wanting to do a show via satellite, my suggestion would be to start with a service like Access America New Orleans, which basically leases airtime on their satellite station. Thweir signal is both streamed and also airs on satellite. Their rates are pretty reasonable.

Having your own satellite uplink is extremely expensive. This would cost many thousands of dollars to install.

If you are just starting out, you could also explore streaming your program. For music, you could try Live365.com or LoudCity. For talk, you could explore uBroadcast.com or podcasting.

It will take time..and a good deal of it, for a start-up show to become a success. Be patient and keep on keeping on.

    Best wishes!
