Hi, I'm a 29 year old Irishman, an I'm considering a life in Canada. My brother in law lives there, and loves it. I was thinking about going for a holiday to visit him (in Alberta), to get a "feel" for the country first. If I like it there, and decide I'd like to live there, how would I start the process off?? Would I have to contact the Canadian embassy in Ireland to get a working Visa?

I'm really lost and haven't a clue where to start. :) Thanks in advance of your relpies...

  1. Don't!

  2. you have to watch Strange Brew at least one hundred times.

    it's the law

  3. It's a very good idea to have a look first. I recommend January or February, quite seriously, to get an idea of how the difference is.

    Then, look here:

  4. this site will show you what you need to know

  5. Probably something more like the Irish Embassy in Canada. ;)

  6. firstly, i think you should go for it!  Like you, i am also irish and have been considering moving and starting a new life in canada (Calgary) as a nurse.  I think it really helps if you know someone out there.  Definitely go visit first and see if you like it (my last visit to canada, i fell in love with it straight away and knew i would go back some day).   Maybe you should contact the Canadian embassy in Dublin.  best of luck with your application.
