How do I start to write a book and get it published?

Question

I have never written a book before, and don't even know where to start. Can anyone give me an idea of the steps you need to take from writing to publishing. Anything will help. Thanks

That would take to long, however go to the library and get some books in how to write. They are many there. Then you get your book written and move to the books that will teach you how to publish. It is a long process and you need to start at the beginning. "How to write."

My uncle actually published a book already. Think of something from your life or something you like. Like maybe you heard a funny joke the other day or maybe someone close to you recently passed away, and build on that. Put yourself in an alternate ego and what would that person do in your situation. Just start writing anything that pops into your head and make it a story. After you have it THEN go back and make it readable or add details. Structure it and have at least two other people edit it. I would make it at least 100 pages because people tend to read the 1st fifty to find out wether they would like to read it or not. Then once it's done take it to a publisher. Maybe there is a book similiar to yours already published. Give that publisher a call. Or call many and see if they like it. Then maybe you want illustrations or a cover (i would actually do this before you call the publishers) Have a talented friend do them for you or maybe you can do them yourself. and then watch the book come out (if you can find a publisher...this is the hardest part)

i'm writing a book too........i don't know how to publish it though.......a way you can start writing is by thinking about your favorite things.........i love birds so i am writing about falcons........start brainstorming......you'll think of something.....
