I've been playing golf for about 4 years, and my swing plane is pretty solid. I have been seeing a pro for a while, and thru video I can see that I am way too for on my toes, and my heels are off or close to being off the ground on my swing. I need some help on this

  1. very simple.....as you address the ball, pretend you are about to sit on a barstool. your weight should be well centered on your feet on the backswing. As you follow through the swing you need to roll your trailing foot.

  2. Kingster is right-why do you want to be on your heels?  The pros are on the left side of the left foot and on the ball of the right foot(assuming right handed).  At address you should be evenly distributed but never more than 50% on your heels and clearly not at impact.  Tiger, Jim Furyk, Adam Scott all have their right heel off the ground at impact along with many others.  If you are on your left toes that is a problem as you cannot shift your weight without lifting up, but you would then have trouble making solid contact and this does not seem to be the problem.

  3. Can't the pro you've been seeing for a while help you with that? If he can't, get another pro.

  4. practice and practice!

    better get a pro!

  5. Simple, at address lean back until you feel the weight on your heels. Now maintain this feeling while swinging all the way through in slow motion. ALL THE WAY , from take away to follow through in slow motion. I guarantee this works and I just saved you 150 dollars.

  6. your weight shouldn't be on your heels, it is ok if your heels come off the ground a bit, you want your wieght evenly in your feet esp on the balls of your feet.

  7. You need to imagine your knees balancing over the arch of your foot.  Your knees should be over the middle of your feet.

  8. You need to correct your balance when you set up to the ball and then maintain that balance through the swing.

  9. This may sound stupid but squeeze your bum cheeks together. By doing this you help tighten your stabilising muscles in your core and thus will keep you in a solid position in your swing. If you are having trouble a key exercise is to clench your cheeks for 10sec x 10 times x 3times a day. I had the same issue and went to a bio-mechanics man and hey it worked. Go figure.

  10. try these lessons they helped me out with certain areas of my swing.

  11. Why would you want to stay on your heels??????

You need to be balanced, with your weight evenly distributed.

    Time for a new 'Pro'.

    Happy swinging
