  1. Not sure how large the space is, but a ScatMat works wonders as a cat deterrent.  Also, you'll find lots of sprays (bitter apple, ketone, etc.) in your pet store.  The problem I've had with the sprays is that they also smell bad to people, but maybe outside that wouldn't be such a problem.  Good luck!

  2. this may sound funny but my granny had the same problem with stray cats fouling in her garden where my kids and her grandchildren played so she filled bottles of water and put them around the fencing,it scared the cats and she also put orange peels down, they are detered by the smell!!!!! hope it helps!!

  3. First I guess we need to know if there is also dirt where your cat is. How big space is it? Is it your cat? If there is nothing else for him to go on there's not much you can do. If there is soil you can make it more attractive to the cat by spading it up and making it soft and maybe adding some sand.

  4. Add a motion activated sprinkler to that area.  When the cats come near, it will turn on and scare them away.

There are also motion detector sounds that you can ue as well.

The plural of Cat is Cats.
