I'm running XP. One of my folders always automatically opens up when I startup my computer. I checked in C:\Documents and Settings\**each user name**\Start Menu\Programs\Startup, but it's not listed there. How do I stop this folder from opening up every time?

  1. if ur running xp go to start > run > type msconfig press enter > goto the startup tab. and remove anything you dont want. ( dont remove anything that looks important.

    or you could just download startup defender... same thing but simpler for the non computer smart peeps

  2. goto start-> run

    type msconfig and hit enter

    goto the last tab

    here u can see a big list which all run during the computer startup.. the folder which is opening everytime must be listed there.. just uncheck it... that shud work

    hope it helps!! cheers!
