How do I stop being sensitive?

I take it to heart if people are mean to me,I feel uneasy for ages.

  1. Just remember that when YOU make fun of someone, that you don't mean it with every fiber, so that's probably how they feel.


  2. wow, thin-skin they call it.  Other people use harsher names, but it all boils down to you feeling entitled somehow.  You got a strong "victim" complex which means you thnk people go out of their way to plot and scheme to be be mean.  People arent that creative...they might be careless with their words around you or anybody, but I hardly think they are plotting against you.

  3. 1.you must practice yoga .that will help you to control your emotions.2.consult a psychiatrist he will help you .3.pray daily to god

  4. First of all...celebrate your sensitivity because that is such a wonderful character trait. The downside to that is having to weed through what is yours to own and what is not....and like the person said early some people are ***** and well let them own that....now you are saying how do you not take to heart when people are mean.....its called practising working on boundaries....people are always violating peoples personal boundaries.....i see boundaries in three areas: space, touch, talk...when people are mean they are usually saying something to you (talk) You can either build a fence around your yard (yourself) and don't let them in or you can open the gate and assert yourself.....

    research ways to build your boundaries and to assert yourself. A counsellor can help you work on this or find some good books to help you on this.  These are skills and EVERYONE can benefit from working on these skills. I am a counsellor and I have to continually work on these....it takes practise...and sometimes I have a difficult time letting something go even when its not mine to own....But I would never want to loose my sensitivity...I enjoy it way to much...

    So celebrate yourself..

    it takes practice, but you'll get the hang of it
