Ok, I'm post partum about five weeks for one, and I made the mistake of watching Atonement. Well, I can not stop crying over that movie, which I thought was one of the saddest films I've ever seen. I am still thinking about it and feeling awful days later! How can I get over this! I know it's crazy...please don't be rude...

  1. Talking to someone about it will help alot believe it or not.

I've never had that problem with movies but one time an attorney friend told me the saddest thing a person could imagine with a client of his regarding his child.

My mind is crazy and when people describe things to me in detail its like I was almost there to see it in person.  Not really but I can see very much what is being described.

So when he told me the whole story about tragic thing that happened to this kid it tore me up for almost a month.  I'm a big bad guy and here this story brought me to my knees over a child I never even knew.

After a few weeks I just couldn't tolerate it anymore and I talked to someone about it, someone who it wouldn't effect as much as it did me and before you know it I wasn't thinking about it 24/7.

Sooner then later I was passed it.  I still reflect on that sad story about every few months as this was a good 5 years ago and it always pulls on my heart strings but it passes.

Talking is a good solution for dealing with it - even if it was just a movie.

  2. suck it up

  3. Watch a lighthearted comedy.

Focus on the fact that it is just a movie.

Deal with the issues that are really making you upset (what did the movie mean to you, make you think of, etc).

Watch a movie with the same actors to get a different image of them in your head to make yourself focus on the non-reality of it.

  4. If you feel like crying, cry your eyes out. Find out what is it about that movie that makes you so sad. Write about it.

Maybe you´ll learn something about yourself.

  5. I have that but haven't watched it, i'm pretty sure its not true though. So it's not real life bubbs and you must just be feeling emotional, I get like that over books & films sometimes. I mean, I watched eastenders for the first time ever and cried after 5 mins! Just try and forget about it and listen to happy songs or something.. Sorry if this didn't really help but good luck (:

  6. omg.. i was searching through social question to ask

because im studying it in university

and when im free i like to go on yahoo.answers

    anywhooo...

your question was a question that has been on my mind forever!

ever since watching ‘Bridge to Tarabitha.. I’ve been so depressed

every time i even thought about it

    sooo sad!

all my friends and family tell me omg.. its just a movie

but it felt so real, and really touched me (to bad it ended badly :P)

anywhoo.. all i can suggest for you is, whenever you feel depressed about hat movie.... try to remember a few funny/good moments of the movies.. and have a laugh about it!

  7. I know how you feel. I'd just give it a few days, and you'll (hopefully) get over the feeling. Watch/read other things to take your mind off the film. Remind yourself it's not real, even though the way you feel is as if it is real. ^_^ Hope you feel better soon.
