For the past few weeks my boyfriends son who has lived with us for about a year has been peeing on himself. He is definetly potty trained. When we do ask him if he has to pee he says no when he really does and then goes on himself. We dont know what to do. He goes to see his mother on the weekends so I dont know if this has anything to do with it.

  1. Get some marbles and an empty shot glass. Fill the shot glass with marbles (so you know how many will fill it). Then empty the marbles into another small container. Tell your child that every time they go potty, they will get to pick a marble and put it into the shot glass. When the shot glass is full (all the marbles are now in the shot glass again) your child will get to go with you to the store and pick out what ever "surprise" they want...any toy. I took mine to Dollar Tree and it was a treat for him.

    Hope this helps

  2. Check and see if there have been any major changes in his life lately.  You say he goes to see his mother on the weekends, how is that going?  Is something different going on there?  It sounds like he is going through something right now.  For the time being I think you should stop asking him if he needs to go and just send him to the bathroom every couple of hours.  Be patient and give positive reinforcement when he goes in the potty, candy, stickers ... etc.  Good luck!

  3. take him to the doctor

  4. My daughter is four and still has accidents.  I think it can be normal.

Kids love to please their parents, so the best you can do is encourage him.  Praise him when he does use the toilet.  Maybe give him stickers for when he uses the toilet, and a special big sticker for days where he doesn't have any accident at all.

Try making the toilet routine a fun thing, like saying "Let's go use the potty, and then we can play with the Thomas trains!".  And not a chore.

Ask and offer help if he needs it, anything from just an escort to help with the buttons and elastics.

And if he does have an accident, try to just deal with it and not get upset or make him feel bad about it.  It's so tempting to say "See, if you had just gone when we told you do, you wouldn't have had this accident".   (that's sooooo tempting to say, but I think it would just make the poor little guy feel worse).

  5. Poor little bloke, he's just trying to cope with life, he'll be ok, the best thing to do is to not make a big deal out of it, if you think he may need to go to the toilet just take him, instead of asking him, if he objects and saiz he does'nt want to go, leave him be, if he pees himself, just change him good naturedly, and leave it at that, he'll move on past this stage when he feels settled and happy. The biggest mistake would be to make him feel he is doing anything wrong. Good luck.

  6. put a potty in the bathroom and tell him everytime that he uses the bathroom he get what is called a pee pee candy[a small sugar or sugar free candy]it works everytime but make sure he actually uses it and doesnt fake it lol <=
