  1. Wash your hands before handling. But make sure you find out why he/she is. If its a baby then its teething so u cant do anything about that. But if not jush where gloves, thats all you can do really!

  2. Play with it,it needs fun!

  3. First of all, you wanna make ure the hampster is all the way awake and not partially asleep, thats important. Secondly, the more you pick a hampster up, the more they get tame, so pick it up more often.

  4. Wash your hands before handling, so they dont smell like food. Then rub your hands in the sawdust or bedding so it smells like his habitat, not his lunch! Keep him close to the floor so he doesn't fall when you jump, and if worst comes to worst just wear gloves until he's used to being held.

  5. just don't bother him or her....

  6. make sure that you wash your hands before handling it because it will smell the food on your hands and will bite so if there is no scent on your hands it will not bite

    hope it helps!

  7. I had the same problem. When we got our hamster it had come from another home, with people who didn't want it anymore.

Whenever the hamster bit our fingers or nibbled. We'd let out a quick high pitched squeak. Obviously he didn't like the sound. Soon, he related the two, stopped biting us and was the sweetest hamster you could ask for.

    Good luck =)

  8. Stop putting your fingers in his mouth.

  9. he could just be stressed, tired, confused, or scared. if u just got him take him back to the store and they'll give it a shot and moniter it for a few weeks. u can wait for ur hamster or get another one that already got its shot(shown to u only apon request in one of the employe only rooms). if u didnt just get him give him a few days without picking him up just changing food and water. by the way the shot is free. i dont no which stores do it but i no that petsmart does if u bought him from there.

  12. Find out WHY it's biting and address the matter.

Does it bite anyone else or just you?

    If just you, then why?

If everyone, perhaps it is frightened or in pain?
