How do I stop my hands from itching after I shower?

It used to happen very often when I was little but not so much any more. They become pruney (that I know I can't help) but they get so itchy sometimes! My mom used to tell me to drink milk when they itch (an old wives' tale I believe). Any ideas?

  1. I would put some lotion on it that usually helps me.

  2. It may be somethingin the soaps you are using---check and see if any of the ingredients in the soap are anything that you are allergic to----

after a shower try rubbing some corizone cream on right away

  3. The itching is caused by increased blood circulation to the hands from the hot water.

I can only say try increasing circulation gradually.

  4. you probably have hard water or are allergic to whatever is in the water

only way is to get a water softener installed in the home and that might not even do it

  5. i would try lotion

  6. Once you are out and your hands are dry apply cocoa butter lotion to them.

  7. Dry your hands completely and put some lotion on.

  8. Sometimes using lotion after you get out of the shower helps the itching. My hands used to itch after bathing too!

  9. I use lotion, pretty expensive stuff just for the hands, and I apply it while my hands are still damp from the shower (but not wet).  I went through several lotions and hit pay dirt with La Roche-Posay, but it's 25 dollars a tube.
