How do I stop someone from heading down the wrong path?

After the first couple times I started to become concerned. I've already tried talking her out of everything but she just bitched at me. I'm begging to really be afraid of what she can potentially become. I've seen it happen. I really care about this girl and I don't want her turning into all the other 16 year old druggies. She says shes not as bad as everyone else but shes on to a start. I really miss being with her sober. I don't think she realizes how much this is hurting her, and quite frankly, I don't understand why she started doing it so frequently. I feel like she's losing control. Honestly, she used to be a really bright person and now she's always stoned or drunk. Please help.

  1. sorry to say but there is not really anything you can do if people want to destroy themselves then that's what they will do

  2. You tell her parents. It's their job to steer her in the right direction.

  3. Wow, you are a really wonderful friend, wanting to help her. Have you tried talking to her parents, "Secretly". Or perhaps schedule an intervention. Talk to your school counselor. Tell her your worried about her. She does sound like she is heading into trouble, and it will only get worse. Step in, regardless if she likes it or not. One day she may thank you...when she's sober and not stoned.
