  1. Do you mean how to clear it?  For Explorer: Go to Tools, Internet Options, and click the delete button under "Browsing History."  You will see the options to delete history, cookies, etc. I'm sure there is something similar in the other browsers.

  2. If you're talking about the search box on the Yahoo! Toolbar. You can't stop the dropdown list entirely, but if you want to clear the search history, start typing something (even a space will work) and when the list appears, click "Clear Recent Searches." If you don't want the toolbar to remember your searches, uncheck "Remember recent searches" which also appears in the dropdown list.

But if you're talking about a search box that appears on a web page (and you're using Internet Explorer) click on Tools >> Internet Options >> Content. In the Auto Complete section click on 'Settings' and uncheck Forms.

Note that deleting temporary internet files, cookies or history will have no effect on Auto Complete. You can, however, delete Form Data to erase the current suggestions that show up in the dropdown list, but it won't turn off the feature.

  3. **Disable search history**

If you want to disable the function then go to tools and choose internet options and under the content tab click auto complete a small box will pop up uncheck the forms section click ok and you should be set.
