How do I stop the water from coming up the propeller shaft on my modal boat?

  1. use silicon sealer then rub the end of sealer with Vaseline.  or fit an o ring if that is possible.


  2. Stuff it.

    Install a 'stuff box' through which the prop shaft runs, this is  then stuffed with grease to prevent water ingress.

  3. put a load of grease round the shaft.that will do it. well that is the cheap and easy way to do it.note that you will have to re apply it every time you use it

  4. The inboard end of the tube enclosing the prop shaft as it exits the hull must be above the water line of the hull.

  5. o - ring seal

    even snip it if you have to to mount around shaft

    re -fit to form"o"

    then proceed too stuff with grease

    this may not completly eliminate problem but it will deffinately slow it down

    I recomend a bilge pump, manually switched as extra precaution and for  over boarding any persistant water
