Question:

How do I stop them from trying to invoice me?

I received a bill from Allied and I've written them a letter saying that I already paid my medical bill through a different collector and to cancel my invoice. They sent me another invoice... I tried calling the number but I couldn't get through to anyone except a repetitive message saying: "If you know your party's extension please enter it now, otherwise please hold for next available representative." I don't want to pay another $500 dollars, what can I do to make them stop billing me?

  1. Send the second company a letter along with proof that you paid the first company.  A cancelled check, money order stub or credit card receipt should work fine.  Also, be sure to send copies, not the original.  I'd also send and exact copy of everything to the credit bureaus as well.  Good luck to you.
