How do I stop this golden finch from flying at the window?

He keeps fighting his reflection. I don't want him to get hurt. Most humane and eco-safe way to stop this?

dont let the finch out during the day when they curtains are open.... normally we wait till nyt time to let the birds out

Best way to stop this is to get some sort of decals and put on the window or keep curtains drawn. The decals that I love can be found at Duncraft a bird supply store. you can find them on web. Cheap and work great. Birds do this as they think they can fly through window. They also do it as they think their reflection is competition for a mate. The decals are frosted white but the birds see them and realize that this is not a fly through and if cant see itself as good will not fight with itself in window. Good luck
