I have done a scan for viruses and spyware on my computer using Zone Alarm. It found viruses, and quarantined them, saying that they are infected but disabled.

(This has happened before the scan) When I open my Local C drive and I click on any folder, I get this message :

Attention Johan! Some dangerous viruses detected in your system. Microsoft Windows XP files corrupted. This may lead to destruction of important files in C:\WINDOWS. Download protection software now! Click OK to download the antispyware. (Recommended)

Then Firefox opens to a blocked, forgery page.

How can I fix this?

  1. Download an run the the following software, delete what ever they find should leave your PC free of infections:

    Malwarebytes: http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam.php

    SuperAntispyware: http://www.download.com/SUPERAntiSpyware...

    Avast Anti-Virus: http://www.download.com/Avast-Home-Editi...

Once you have removed it keep Avast and download Comodo Pro firewall, then switch to Firefox 3 if you are browsing with IE this should stop it returning. (links on my profile)

  2. Download the free versions of Avast Home Edition, and AdAware. This will find anything and everything wrong with your system. I recently installed MIRAR which really ****** up my computer. It had attached itself to every folder in my computer including the OS. I ended up having to reinstall Windows, but everything works great now... You may have to do this as well....

  3. YOU SHOULD DELETE THEM FROM QUARANTINE TO , AND TRY MALWAREBYTES ANTI-MALWARE THAT SHOULD DO IT,

  4. Get the malwarebytes.Trust me I used it recently and was surprised how Much Adware I had in my system.

  5. Avast free <------Also pretty important

    a-squared

    Malwarebytes   <------Really important

    Adaware

Try to install these programs, then restart and boot into safe mode.

Those four programs, Windows defender, and your Zonealarm AV scan should remove anything....  It will take a long time for all scans to finish, but you'll have to do it if you want to remove the infection.  These viruses associated with fake spyware/antivirus programs are really hard to destroy unless you re willing to do lots of scanning.

  6. You have multiple infections, and unfortunately, the best method to clean your system, is to not rely on just some random tool, there are plenty of easy manual methods, and I highly recommend them.  However, you need some to create an infection specific regimen of fixes, only someone trained in spyware/malware removal can help you.
