How do I stop yahoo messenger from showing my real name when I send an instant messege?

When I send an instant messege it shows my real name instead of my yahoo id.

What you see on your computer is not what is seen on the receiving computer. I thought the same and so did my daughter. When we IM'd each other I asked her what she was receiving at her end. It displayed my Yahoo ID and not my name. The same was true with her. Her computer showed her real name on msgs. she sent, but all I see is her Yahoo ID.

So you can IM easy and know the recieving party is not seeing your real name.

Under Messenger across the top, open my contact details. The name listed there can be changed and I am pretty sure that will change what shows up!!

ok this is what you do. Go under "messenger" and click on "my contact details" and you can put whatever you want to show up in there.

another nickname or whatever...thats how you change it.

just change the settings of your ym find it in the preferences..click my contact details and change it if u want then click  okay..

I just made up a fake name and put it in my name part under my account. I dont give out my real name online or on the computer.
