Question:

How do I store alcohol in the non-original bottle! I just need a smaller container to refill with my handle?

Hey everyone! Just wondering if anybody knows what kind of containers they use in bars to hold alcohol? Like the ones with those metal tall caps that it pours out of? Theyre usually tall and really skinny; almost like an olive oil container...

The reason I ask is because I have a couple of handles of good vodka and when I have guests, I'd like to bring a smaller better looking container out to serve them with (rather than dropping a huge 1.75 bottle on the table and saying "DRINK IT UP!").

It doesn't have to be something that's SUPPOSED to be used for alcohol, but something that will keep the alcohol ok once it's in (I'm not sure if alcohol spoils without being covered or something)

Thank you!

  1. well you can get them at lee's discount liquor i jus bought like 6 of them and the spouts to go with i  jus asked where are those things you see at the bar they pour you a shot wit...and he walked me right over to it....

  2. Make sure you use glass, not lead crystal, and make sure the cap is plastic and not metal and you'll be fine to put liquor in it. You can order glass bottles online cheap or even reuse existing liquor bottles.

And hard liquor doesn't spoil. It will change slightly in flavor over years and years, and even dry into a nasty film in some cases (rum + bourbon, for example) but it takes quite a bit to turn vodka into anything except vodka.

  3. This is what decanters are for.

They may be clear and light, or heavy with cut-glass. Most have ground glass stoppers

A small port decanter should work - and sit nicely on it's own.
