My glasses broke so I have some contacts in (monthly ones) and as I cannot get to an optician or any store before morning (all closed here on Sunday) I need to store them somehow tonight. I have solution, can I just put some foil or plastic wrap over a container with the lens in it?

  1. That should keep them clean and safe until the morning, but you must get a container first thing, as I think you'll know all about infections.

  2. if possible you can try sleeping in them overnight. If not maybe you can fill a small bowl with solution and put it in there.Get a case asap.

  3. Although I wouldn't recommend it . Put some solution in a container overnight . As long as you rinse them first before inserting them . As a one off it should be fine . Whatever you decide to do don't sleep in them . As they aren't designed for that. And it can create more problems.

  4. My first question would be, what container did you take them out of to put in your eyes when your glasses broke.  Why can you not place them back in the same container ?

You could however, place them in solution in a small container overnight as an emergency but be sure to cover the container with clingfilm or foil to keep out the dust.

Rinse them well in the morning before putting in your eyes.

On NO ACCOUNT, sleep in them, they are not made for you to do this and can lead to numerous problems including eye infections.

Do get a correct container asap tomorrow.
