Question:

How do I straighten my hair?

I have natural curly hair. sometimes i just want it straight; i bought a new flat iron that goes up to 400 degrees. i would think that would be enough, but i have a real tough time with getting my hair perfectly straight and thin like everyone else. it ends up puffy and thick that does not look good at all. Any tips? should I thin it? layer it? use small chunks? slow it down? Help! (p.s. i cant reach the back either, which makes that look bad too.)

  1. with a straightener!

  2. With a hair straightener . But the best thing would be to go to a hairdresser

  3. Here are the steps to getting perfect straight hair and last for a long time.

    Materials:

Garnier Fruitis Anti-Humidity Sleek and Shine Styling Cream

    Garnier Fruitis Anti-Humidity Hairspray

    Curling Brush

    Blow Dryer

    Flat Iron (optional)

After showering and shampoo and conditioning, and toweling dry your hair, apply Garnier Fruitis Anti-Humidity Sleek and Shine Styling Cream. Then use the blow dryer to kind of dry your hair. Then use the blow dryer and the curling brush to straighten hair. You can get step by step videos on youtube.com. When your done, let it cool for a couple of minutes. Then, you can use your flat iron the for touch ups, but that optional. Lastly, apply Garnier Fruitis Anti-Humidity Hairspray.

  4. This problem used to happen to me.

    get this product:

Special Effects: Flat Iron. It protects your hair from the heat, and keeps the straightness longer.

i found it at Walgreens. It's in a purple spray bottle.

Section it off. put your pointer fingers right above your ears, make a part all the way so your fingers meet in the back. put that top section on top of your head away from the rest. You could start here or if your hear is really curly and you want it to be perfect=] you could split that bottom layer in 1/2 and pin it out of the way.

Start with about an inch of hair slowly go down the hair. If the ends are curly you can hold it at the ends, but not too long.

then go over the hair faster to finish it off, until it looks the way you want.

Now, about the back, it won't look as good as the front, but.......

and it will feel awkward, grab the piece from the back and turn your head as far as you can while still looking in the mirror. straiten it. and finish the section.

take a hand mirror, and turn around look through the hand mirror and look at the back. if there is something that looks bad take the bad little section and straiten it.

i hope this helps a lot

  5. Go to the hairdresser and ask them to give you techniques on how to straighten it!  Also you could try harder to straighten it and not be lazy!

  6. go to the hairdresser and get it layers and thinned out. straighten your hair one section at a time.

  7. dry your hair with a blow dryer then part your hair how you want it then take pieces of hair and straighten then blow dry it again on cool.

my hair is not straight Eurher and i have to straighten it. so all i did was go to my hair dresser and get it thinner that really helps.

or you can go to a hair dresser and have them straighten it.

    Good luck!!!

  8. go really slow and jsut take your time and divide it in secctions

  9. uumh...with a straightener!!!  lol

  10. Ok so first make sure its heated up long enough wait at least 5 min before using it then divide your hair up in to sections then start straighting slowly but not to slow you could end up with lines. And to avoid puffiness use a protection spray or just a hair spray. =]

  11. i think that you should check out some videos on youtube about how to straighten your hair and as for the back get your mom or sibling to help you.
